If you are hunting in the northern parts of Australia, be prepared for hot humid weather for most of your hunt. However, pack for colder weather if hunting in southern Australia. Suitable calibres for hunting banteng and buffalo include 338 win mag (as a minimum) and the 375 H&H. If hunting in the southern regions then 308 – 300 win mag are the most popular. Traditional spot and stalk methods are used in most instances, with access being mainly 4X4. Vast distances may be travelled in a day in some areas. Access to the hunting camps in the Northern Territory is by fixed wing charter flights. |
